ITB Strengthens International Collaboration at the 2nd Japan-ASEAN University Exchange Meeting

TOKYO, itb.ac.id – The Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., attended the 2nd Japan-ASEAN University Exchange Meeting. A key gathering for leading Japanese and ASEAN universities, the meeting took place at the Metropolitan Edmont Hotel, Chiyoda, Tokyo, on February 17, 2025.
The meeting brought together 20 university leaders from Japan and ASEAN, with 9 from the former and 11 from the latter.
The meeting discussed collaboration on joint research, human resource exchange, and other partnership developments between Japan and ASEAN.
One particular project of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) was also introduced in the meeting: Networked Exchange, United Strength for Stronger Partnerships between Japan and ASEAN (abbreviated NEXUS). It is an initiative to nurture Japan-ASEAN collaboration in various fields through international joint research and researcher exchange or development.
ITB's involvement in the meeting reflects its steadfast commitment to actively developing higher education in Southeast Asia and advancing science and technology on a global scale.
Through this meeting, collaboration between Japanese and ASEAN universities is expected to continue growing and bestow positive impacts on global education and research.
