BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The 12726 Team from Master’s Program in Architecture ITB won the Second Position on Architecture Student Contest 2023. In this competition held by Saint-Gobain Indonesia, the 12726 Team presented their work which was named ‘NOBAR’ or Natural Oase no Barrier Architecture.
The team members are Adriana, Labitta Qonitah, and Tania Alviani. They were supervised by Dr. Eng. Mochamad Donny Koerniawan, S.T., M.T., a lecturer from the Building Technology Research Group School of Architecture and Policy Planning (SAPP) ITB.
Nobar was chosen from the abbreviation of “Nonton bareng” or watch together. This term is in line with the main function of the district, which is designed to accommodate a film community, the Lisboa Film Commission. The objective of designing this district is to create architecture that can become a film community center that is also open to the public.
They took about 2 months to finish their work. In the early stage, 12726 Team researched the context of the design location, which is Lisbon, Portugal, including learning its historical and law aspects. They then discussed their research with their supervisor to talk about the issues and responses that they will present in their design. “We discussed the progress of our design every week, therefore, our supervisors were always involved in every step,” said Adriana.
There are two main stages in their work process, the design process and the production process. The 12726 Team divided the design areas into three categories, the heritage building (A) which was done by Tania; the residential building (B) which was done by Adriana; and external space (C) which was done by Labitta. Even though they implemented role specialization, they also routinely discussed the concept and its implementation.

Then on the production process, Adriana worked on the construction detail and the products that will be used, technical parameters, calculation, and helping create the intro video. Labitta worked on the render and the video. While Tania worked on the architectural pictures by considering the design color palette and agreed concept.
They consider this competition as a personal challenge. Adriana said that even though they worked on this for about two months, the intensive phase only began in the last two weeks due to a technical problem. “We had the wrong submission schedule, which turned out to be 3 weeks ahead of the original schedule, so we rushed our work during the last two weeks,” she said.
With their colorful stories, the 12726 Team managed to win the second position.
