ITB Telecommunication Engineering Held Seminar and Alumni Gathering

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The growth of telecommunication world in a developing country like Indonesia is a required thing. The dynamic development needs fast communication to support the economists. Based on the fact, engineers of telecommunication are awaited. In order to fulfill the need, ITB Telecommunication Engineering major held Telemotion Seminar entitled "The Future of Telecommunication" on Friday-Saturday (29-30/05/15) in East Hall, ITB.

The seminar introduced the major of Telecommunication Engineering, the future career, and the story of successful alumni of Telecommunication Engineering. The speakers who share their experiences are Huawei's Director of Human Resources and Irawan Purwono as the President Director of PT Nusantara Compnet Integrator & CMI. The first day of this event talked about a main topic which is "Telecom World as A Career Path", discussing telecommunication career world. There is also a demonstration done by an alumna who won Kapersky Cyber Security in 2013. The seminar was attended by the high school and college students. The seminar successfully made the high school students interested to enter Telecommunication Engineering major.

On the second day there was an alumni gathering. In one session, there was an explanation about the history of the major, the lecturers, labs, and the current interesting topics of research and education. Besides, panel discussion was held to talk about the prosperity of research in telecommunication field attended by the first day's speakers, lecturers, alumni, and some professors of ITB Telecommunication Engineering major.

The event was closed by giving souvenirs to soon-to-be-retired lecturers and staffs. Dina Karunia (Telecommunication Engineering 2013) as the head of committee was surprisingly thankful for the huge response for the event. She hoped that this kind of event will sustain so it increases the interest to know more about any major in ITB.
