“Of course, ITB really appreciates the ministry’s initiative. We have been waiting for it since last year. So with the issuance of the Ministerial Regulation, now ITB can immediately sign the Rector’s Regulation on PPKS,” said Prof. Reini, Tuesday (10/11/2021).

“This is very much in line with ITB’s efforts to build awareness, education, prevention, and handling in case of unwanted cases,” explained the Rector.

Prof. Reini said that since 2020 ITB had prepared a draft of the Rector’s Regulation on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence at ITB while waiting for the Permendikbudristek to be issued. With the issuance of the Permendikbudristek, ITB is currently finalizing the Rector’s Regulation in line with the Permendikbudristek.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Directorate of Student Affairs ITB. Dr. G. Prasetyo Adhitama, S.Sn., M.Sn., added, ITB always tries to create a healthy, safe and sustainable academic atmosphere based on educational values. Regarding the prevention and handling of sexual violence, ITB cooperates with ITB partners in reputable institutions, both government and non-government institutions.

Dr. Prasetyo added, in drafting rector regulations, ITB always considers input from various parties, both government and non-government institutions, including the National Women’s Commission and lessons learned from other universities.

“In drafting the rector’s regulation, ITB refers to the regulations/laws in force in the Republic of Indonesia and adapts them to the available resources and academic dynamics to create a healthy, safe and sustainable academic atmosphere,” he explained.

Meanwhile, regarding forming a special PPKS task force, ITB has the status of an Autonomous Legal Entity State University (PTN Legal Entity). Referring to Government Regulation Number 65 of 2013, ITB is given the authority to regulate this kind of right internally.
