BANDUNG, itb.ac.id--A different scene was seen during the Final Semester Examination (UAS) for Visual Communication Design students from the ITB Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) on Monday, 22 May 2023. Wearing costumes of various characters or cosplay, they walk around campus in a parade.

This moment was shared by ITB Visual Communication and Design (VCD) student Kayla Seraphine Setiadipura on her Twitter account. Suddenly, the post went viral. According to the ITB VCD lecturer Dra. Ifa Safira Mustikadara, M.Sc., this activity is an UAS for the 2022/2023 academic year Communication Psychology course.

"In last semester's Communication Process course, we have been able to cosplay for the material of Self-Concept, but only as an intermezzo in response to the hectic fashion week in Sudirman, Jakarta," he said. So that it can be said that this cosplaying moment for this UAS was the first time.

Ifa said that the choice of the UAS Cosplay and Parade was the wish of the students themselves because she gave freedom to her students to choose the type of UAS they wanted to work on. They were very enthusiastic and excited. As a result, they made their cosplay happily and according to their passion. Apart from making Cosplay, they also had to take part in parading around campus, taking pictures with strangers and asking for their impressions, as well as writing cosplay references for their UAS assessment.

Meanwhile, on the positive side, through the UAS, students were tested for their creativity and ability to think outside the box. "There's no obligation for them to rent, make it themselves, or borrow their costume, it's free, so there's creativity that has to be out of the box," she said.

Various positive comments were also seen from the students. For example, from Putri Maharani. According to her, the Communication Psychology course was very interesting. Not only that, she was also happy to see the various cosplays at this UAS activity.

"Regarding the Communication Psychology Course, I think this course can help me develop my designs more broadly," Putri stated. Putri herself appeared in a Kaonashi cosplay.

The costumes they displayed were unique, from children’s cartoon characters in movies to ojek online drivers. Even VCD Lecturer Ifa Safira Mustikadara herself appeared in a Maleficent cosplay.
