ITB Visits Several Universities in Australia: Enhancing Education Quality and Strengthening Collaboration

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., along with the University Secretary Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Widjaja Martokusumo, and the Head of the ITB Partnership Bureau Prof. Dr. Taufiq Hidayat, conducted a visit to several universities in Australia from June 22-30, 2024.
The universities visited included The University of New South Wales, University of Sydney, The University of Melbourne, Monash University, La Trobe University Melbourne, and RMIT University.
During the visit, the ITB delegation met with university leaders, faculty members, and stakeholders. They also had the opportunity to visit various research facilities, laboratories, and engage in discussions at each university.
This visit opened up numerous opportunities to broaden knowledge, enhance education quality, expand networks, and adopt best practices in the education sector.
The visit began on Monday (June 24, 2024) at The University of New South Wales (UNSW). The agenda aimed to strengthen the existing collaboration between the institutions and explore further partnership opportunities in the fields of engineering and innovation.
On Tuesday (June 25, 2024), the delegation continued their visit to The University of Sydney. During this visit, ITB leaders discussed collaboration opportunities with Sydney Future Students and held a sharing session with the Sydney School of Architecture, Design, and Planning.
Not only in Sydney, but the ITB delegation also visited Melbourne, specifically The University of Melbourne and Monash University on Thursday (June 27, 2024). This meeting focused on collaboration for double degree programs, student exchange, cooperation in science and arts, as well as research and innovation partnerships.
On the last day, Friday (June 28, 2024), the ITB delegation visited the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and La Trobe University. The agenda aimed to strengthen existing collaborations, open opportunities for joint research, discuss academic exchange programs and curricula, and explore potential collaborative projects for the future.
"These various visit agendas not only open new chapters of cooperation between universities but also revive existing collaborative activities," said Prof. Widjaja.
These visits can also serve as a crucial moment for ITB to build more strategic and effective collaborations in the future.
It is hoped that this visit will have a positive impact on the field of education and research in both Indonesia and Australia.
