BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Nathalie Maura Sutopo won the 1st position at the Institut Teknologi Bandung Outsanding Students 2023. Nathalie is a student from the School of Business and Management (SBM).
Nathalie explained that the Outstanding Students Award process began with a study program internal selection stage, then continued to the faculty stage, and finally represented the faculty at the ITB stage. Currently, she is representing ITB on the national stage. Natalie said that during the campus selection process, she faced several challenges due to a shorter period than what was determined before; she needed to prepare paper and creative solutions presentation with SDGs as their topic. Outside those, she still has campus activities, projects, business, and other external activities.
She is currently participating in the national outstanding student selection, which is organized by the Center for National Achievement, Ministry of Education, Research, Culture, Research, and Technology. This is a prestigious competition for university students due to its strict qualifications, from academic and non-academic achievements to contributions to communities.
She said that the reason for her academic success and other achievements is good time management. She first determined her scale of priorities. In her busy schedule, she managed her time effectively and efficiently to perform optimally during the outstanding student selection.
“At first, I thought that outstanding students are for those who participate in a lot of competition, but in reality, it is more than that; there are a lot of things that are considered to be an outstanding student,” said Nathalie. Her experience as MC and moderator became one of the things that were considered during the selection.
Now, Nathalie is running a business project named MEALTH, a wellness community that helps young professionals and students to achieve holistic health conditions. Through her project, entrepreneurship experience, and community service, she managed to earn herself positive consideration.
For Nathalie, ITB is a place to find access, connection, and knowledge, and the scale of those is only determined by one’s motivation.
“Rather than wanting to be an outstanding student, what is more, important is to focus on what you want to achieve during your college year, do your best, do not hesitate to take an opportunity, and then maximize it, because in the end if you have worked hard for the best result, then that prize of becoming an outstanding student will come by itself,” said Nathalie.
