Prepare Yourself Facing the Working World: ITB Students Follow the Brand U Day Event
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The working world is one of steps that will pass after the student declared as graduate after go through education in college. The working world has different characteristics than when students are sitting on the bench in college. Many of the abilities and skills that should be possessed by a potential worker, students often find difficulty to adapt and meet the demands of the working world. Competition of the working world is currently very tight, added with the opening of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) at the end of the year 2015, which will makes the current labor freely in Southeast Asia, add to the atmosphere of the competition to get the job done according to the passion more strong. The key to all problems above is the preparation and supply mature self in the face of the working world. One of the activities at ITB in favor the achievement that is "Brand U Day" organized on Saturday-Sunday (03-04/10/15) by Paragon Company as partners with ITB Career Center.
This activity takes the theme "Personal Branding for Planning Your Career" with two main event i.e. psychological test and Career seminars. According to Sabrina Salsabila (Industrial Engineering Management 2010) as HRD staff of Paragon Company who became the person in charge of this activity, "The purpose of this activity is held, we'd like to know more ITB students about themselves respectively, introduce the importance of passion and personal branding in an attempt to improve their performance in the world later career". These activities aimed at students who are sitting at third and last grade.
Psychological test held on Saturday (03/10/15) in room 9211 (GKU Timur) from 08.00-10.30 WIB in first session and 10.30-13.00 in second session. Total participants this psychological test activities amounted to 140 students from different majors of ITB. For the activities of Career seminar, presented by Rene Suhardono and Salman Subakat (Marketing Director of Paragon Technology and Innovation). Career Seminar hosted in the West Hall of the ITB on Sunday (04/10/15) at 08.00-12.00 am and attended by about 200 students of ITB. After the activities of Career seminars, followed by feedback and consultation activities of the psychological test results given by psychologists of Paragon Company.
The activities of the Career Seminar is opened by a foreword from the Chairman of the ITB Career Center, Bambang Setiabudy, "Many potential workers who still lack confidence and don't yet know where it will be going forward as well as the goals not yet know very well about herself". Rene Suhardono is a motivational speaker who has been known to a broad audience, stated that the motivation and passion is something that important, the motivation is the reason for acting and passion is performance. Someone who wants to succeed in the world of careers must know the passion and mission in life and what to do to achieve that has been planned.
