Final Mapres ITB 2026: Fostering Outstanding Students as Role Models with Impact

Final Selection of ITB Outstanding Student (Mapres) 2026, held on Saturday (March 28, 2026), at the East CC IPTEKS Auditorium, ITB Ganesha Campus
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id — Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), through its Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa), held the final selection of the 2026 Outstanding Student (Mahasiswa Berprestasi/Mapres) on Saturday (March 28, 2026), at the East CC IPTEKS Auditorium, ITB Ganesha Campus. The program is part of a national initiative organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
This program aims to recognize and encourage students to achieve excellence, both academically and non-academically, through various accomplishments, competitions, and organizational experiences.
A total of 12 finalists from different faculties and schools at ITB competed in the final stage: Muhammad Ilham Saripul Milah (Metallurgical Engineering, FTTM), Adisti Candraningtyas (Environmental Engineering, FTSL), Najwa Kahani Fatima (Informatics Engineering, STEI), Nareswari Tarisa Kirana (Geological Engineering, FITB), Adrian Nicholas Daddy L.T. (Actuarial Science, FMIPA), Geraldin Krisdya Putri (Product Design, FSRD), Ganesha Rahman Liswantoro (Engineering Physics, FTI), Jessica Angelina (Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, SF), Muhammad Abdillah Putra Alfera (Management, SBM), Asybel B.P. Sianipar (Architecture, SAPPK), Carmelia Carina Halim (Agricultural Engineering, SITH), and Faiz Deri Rahman (Aerospace Engineering, FTMD).
ITB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., emphasized that being an Outstanding Student is not merely about winning, but about exemplifying good character. “Outstanding Students are role models, not just about winning or losing. They must demonstrate strong character, set an example, and contribute meaningfully to create a positive impact on society,” he stated.

He further highlighted that the title carries a significant responsibility as representatives of the institution. “Becoming an ambassador and the face of ITB is a lifelong responsibility,” he added.
The Rector also expressed appreciation for the finalists as representatives of ITB’s diverse fields of study, ranging from science and engineering to arts and social humanities.
Meanwhile, ITB Director of Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. apt. Muhamad Insanu, S.Si., M.Si., stated that the selection results will be submitted to LLDIKTI Region IV in mid-April 2026. “The winners will receive further mentoring from the panel of judges to refine various aspects before advancing to the next stage,” he explained.
In the final stage, participants underwent several key assessments, including Creative Idea Presentation, English Speech, and Verification of Outstanding Achievements. The entire process was evaluated by a panel of eight judges comprising academics and practitioners from various fields through careful and objective deliberation, considering achievements, creative ideas, and English proficiency.
Based on the evaluation results, three winners were selected. Ganesha Rahman Liswantoro (Engineering Physics, FTI) was awarded first place, followed by Muhammad Abdillah Putra Alfera (Management, SBM) as second place, and Carmelia Carina Halim (Agricultural Engineering, SITH) as third place.

Through this comprehensive selection process, ITB not only identifies students with outstanding achievements but also nurtures inspiring individuals who can represent the university at the national level and contribute positively to society.
