SBM ITB Entrepreneurship Program Visited PT LEN

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Program once again have a Business Trip event for the students in Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Class 2018. On Monday (06/06/16) lalu, SBM ITB paid a visit to PT LEN. Students were accompanied by Leo Aldianto and R. Bayuningrat Harjakaprabon as the lecturers of the course Design Thinking for Innovation. There, they were welcomed by the Director of Technology and Manufacturing PT LEN, Darman Mappangara.


According to Leo, the program was to implement an application of business model, business plan and startup businesses. This visit was expected to inspire the students to come up with creative ideas to run their business. In addition, the program also aimed to trigger so that students can see wider potential of business in their environment, both within the university and industry.

PT LEN is an electronic company that has a vision to become a world class company. PT LEN was established in order to improve the welfare of stakeholders through innovative electronic products infrastructure and industry. Their innovative breakthrough brought PT LEN to their success in making their first product in the form of a television transmitter for Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) and equipment for the train. PT LEN also issued a product of E-KTP (Electronic Identity Card), military communications equipment, simulators and solar energy.
To the students, Darman share the two business concepts ofPT LEN: product push (the unknown product in public) and market pull (required product in public). Beside maintaining focus, Darman said that a businessman must be able to see other opportunity of the business in order to grow it.

"The other opportunities are always have an innovation of our product, time to market as the one of important things, and Human Resources is major capital in the company," said Darman.
