Semiconductor International Seminar by LPIT ITB, Enhancing Contribution to Industrial Innovation

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institute for Science and Technology Development of Institut Teknologi Bandung (LPIT ITB) held the Semiconductor International Seminar at the Multipurpose Hall, CRCS Building, Ganesha Campus ITB, on Wednesday (21/2/2024).
The event featured two keynote speakers: Professor Emeritus from the Department of Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University, Prof. Luh-Maan Chang, and the Head of Broadband Wireless Access Prof. Trio Adiono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.
In his welcoming speech, Vice-Rector for Finance, Planning, and Development Prof. Ir. Muhamad Abduh, M.T., Ph.D. stated that this event serves as a meeting for brilliant thinkers, industry leaders, and innovators who have shown consistent efforts to achieve excellence in the continuously evolving field of semiconductor technology.
"As we find ourselves at the forefront of a new era, marked by rapid technological advancements and challenges that have never been seen before, this seminar serves as an important platform for the exchange of ideas, insights, and collaborative efforts that will shape the future of the semiconductor industry. Currently, collaboration is vital in addressing complex issues and opportunities that lie ahead," he said.
He mentioned that ITB is currently in the process of establishing the ITB Innovation Park, which functions as a Science and Technology Park. This initiative is in line with ITB's goal of enhancing its contribution to driving innovation in Industry 4.0.
This innovation contribution encompasses advancements in the fields of electronics, informatics, and electric vehicles. To facilitate these efforts, the ITB Innovation Park is strategically equipped with facilities dedicated to the development of electronic technology, including The IC Design Center, PCB Technology, and Mini Wafer Fabrication.
During the event, discussions revolved around several recent breakthroughs, emerging trends, and transformative innovations shaping the semiconductor landscape, focusing on three areas: information and communication technology, medical equipment and food technology, as well as energy.
"This event reflects our dedication to developing the Science Techno Park (STP) ITB into a thriving technological ecosystem. Therefore, the STP is prepared to offer service facilities, facilitate commercial product delivery, serve as a knowledge center for the community, and foster collaboration with the industry," he said.
Additionally, he invited participants to collaborate, share inspiration, and foster collectivity while navigating the path of semiconductor technology.
