UTBK Participants at ITB Reached 23,705 People

BANDUNG, Dirdik ITB–The computer-based exam (UTBK) has started nationally on Monday (12/4/2021). 23,705 participants will take this exam at ITB which runs as one of the centres for UTBK. “We expect all participants to thoroughly check the terms and procedures to successfully undertake UTBK,” said Director of Education of ITB, Dr. Techn. Arief Hariyanto in Bandung, Monday (12/4/2021).

The participants consist of 11,685 people taking the Science and Technology exam group, 11,291 people taking the Social and Humanities exam group, and 729 people taking both. Apart from being conducted at Campus Ganesha, ITB also partnered with six schools in Bandung, namely SMAN 1, SMAN 2, SMAN 3, SMAN 4, SMAN 5, and SMKN 2.

“In conducting UTBK, ITB commits to follow and maintain strict health protocols. Participants are required to not only prepare themselves to take the exam, but also to follow the health protocols,” he stated. As the centre of UTBK, ITB prohibits parents, who escort the participants, from entering the exam area.
Dr. Arief also explained that all participants should pay extra attention to their UTBK schedule and session. For the morning session, UTBK participants should arrive before 06.15 WIB and the gate will be closed at 06.30 WIB. “They will enter the transit and exam room no later than 06.45 with the guidance of the organizers,” he said.

For the afternoon session, UTBK participants should arrive before 12.15 WIB and the gate will be closed at 12.45 WIB. The organizers will guide participants to enter the transit and exam room no later than 13.00 WIB.

The Director of Education also reminded participants to carefully check and bring their exam equipment, namely the UTBK 2021 participant card, diploma (for 2019 and 2020 graduates) or certificate of graduation/grade 12 equipped with photo (for 2021 graduates), identity card (SIM/KTP/student card), and wooden pencil (not mechanical pencil).

Other equipment that should be carried regarding the health protocols are medical mask, hand sanitizer, and personal medications if needed. The number of participants who attended the first day of UTBK was 1,644 people for both morning and afternoon sessions, 1,014 and 630 respectively. On the following days, the average number of participants varies from 1,600 to 2,000 people spread across 7 exam locations.
