WRAM's Insightful Message at ITB's Hybrid Career Days 2023: Enhancing Student Adaptation to Work Environments

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) conducted its Integrated Career Days on October 20-21, 2023. This event, hosted both offline at the ITB Sasana Budaya dan Ganesha (SABUGA) building and online on the official page, provided a platform for job seekers, connecting ITB alumni and graduates with job vacancies and career opportunities from various national and international companies.

The Hybrid Integrated Career Days is a regular event organized by the ITB Career Center under the Directorate of Student Affairs, focusing on professional development and student entrepreneurship. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs. Prof. Jaka emphasized ITB's commitment to producing highly qualified graduates that exceed the standards set by SN Dikti, the National Higher Education Standards.

In his address, Prof. Jaka underscored the significance of feedback from corporate partners for academic programs. This input is crucial as ITB begins to evaluate the curriculum to ensure students are well-prepared to adapt to work environments. He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for ITB students in the job market.

Hafiz Aziz Ahmad, S.Sn., M.Des., Ph.D., the Head of the ITB Career Center, explained that the event aimed to connect companies with professional workers from ITB, especially considering the upcoming graduation ceremony on October 28, 2023. This Hybrid Integrated Career Days marked the third event of its kind since the post-pandemic period.

The event included career fairs, company seminars, recruitment sessions, and opportunities for scholarship seekers, with participation from various companies, scholarship providers, and ITB student entrepreneurship groups. Eleven company partners attended, including Astra Group, Formulatrix, Paragon Corp., PT The Sixth Chemical Engineering Construction, Amazon Web Services, PT. QMB New Energy Materials, Mattel Indonesia, OCBC NISP, Star Energy, Bank BNI, and Bank Mandiri.

A certificate appreciation session recognized the contribution of partners supporting the implementation of ITB Hybrid Integrated Career Days 2023. The event also featured musical performances from the ITB Jazz Student Activity Unit.

The career days focused on enhancing students' adaptation to work environments and creating valuable connections between graduates and potential employers.
