BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—As one of the best universities in Indonesia with lots of international recognition, ITB hopes to have more students across Indonesia regardless of their background and believes each of them has a potential yet to be unlocked. Thus, ITB is committed to seeking out more of Indonesia's potentially-excelling students across the archipelago, even if they have to explore rural regions.
ITB believes that living at 3T (Terdepan, Terluar, Tertinggal; defined as areas that are the furthermost and inaccessible in Indonesia) areas is not a hindrance to pursuing higher education. To reach out to these people, ITB provides assistance for them to gain access to education via the 3T Regional Support program intended for the admission of new students.
Constantly looking for the best students in Indonesia, ITB relies on the candidates’ academic abilities as their sole criterion of enrollment. Studying in ITB requires a good foundation of knowledge to complete their education properly and punctually.
The support provided in this program is the exemption of registration and tuition fees with the addition of mentoring sessions as a freshman. Mentoring is done with a team of lecturers and student assistants, who provide the necessary tutorials and materials for better adaptation to their new academic environment.
ITB also arranges non-academic mentoring sessions. For instance, students who joined can get to know the city of Bandung more and have access to counsel such as getting to know the city of Bandung through sightseeing.
Prospective students who wish to take part in the 3T Regional Support program have to graduate from a high school that is located in 3T regions. Such regions are listed at https://admission.itb.ac.id/home/sarjana/program-3t
