Dr. (H.C.) Drs. Ignasius Jonan, Ak., M.A., Deputy Chair of the ITB Board of Trustees and Chair of the Rector Election Committee for the 2025–2030 term, stated that the plenary session was attended by all members of the ITB Board of Trustees. During the session, the Rector of ITB for the 2025–2030 term was elected and appointed from the three candidates submitted by the ITB Academic Senate.

The Chair of the ITB MWA, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, S.Si., CHFC., CLU., and all Board of Trustees members extended their congratulations to Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., on his appointment as the new Rector of ITB.

“May the Almighty grant His blessings, health, wisdom, and vigor to fulfill this entrusted responsibility and lead ITB to even greater heights,” said Ignasius Jonan.

Transparent and Rigorous Election Process

The election process for ITB’s rector began with the registration phase on September 4, 2024, followed by a series of screenings to determine nominees and select ten initial candidates. In subsequent phases conducted by the ITB Academic Senate, these ten candidates underwent a selection process, narrowing the list to six and then to three final candidates.

Based on the Academic Senate's official report certifying the three Rector Candidates for the 2025–2030 term, the nominees were (in alphabetical order):

• Prof. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.
• Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc.
• Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T.

Ultimately, the MWA selected and appointed Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., as Rector of ITB for the 2025–2030 term.
