BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) has once again achieved global recognition as nine of its professors were included in the World's Top 2% Scientists 2023 list. This prestigious list was published by Prof. John PA Ioannidis MD Ph.D.k from Stanford University, Jeroen Bass from Elsevier, and Kevin Boyak from SciTech
Strategies.
The featured researchers underwent ranking based on a new calculation formula proposed by an article from the prestigious international journal PLOS Biology in 2020. The formula detailedly identifies outstanding researchers through their main published results.
The list encompasses over 100,000 researchers and their works, receiving cross-references from fellow researchers, indicating the vast global influence of their works. Professors classified within this category are actively engaged in research programs and consistently publish scientific works.
The determination of the world's most influential scientists involves specific indicators established to gauge their impact. The indicators include citation, h-index, co-authorship, adjusted hm-index, thesis citation for distinct authorship, and a composite indicator (c-score). Professors are evaluated within this matrix, classified into 22 fields of study and 176 sub-areas.
This year, nine professors from ITB were featured in the World's Top 2% Scientists
2023 list. This remarkable achievement signifies that ITB boasts the highest number of researchers in Indonesia, alongside Universitas Indonesia (UI), also featured in the list of the world's most influential scientists.
