Academy Express: When Games Met School

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Collaboration between students of Informatics Engineering with Visual Arts ITB produces an educational game called the Academy Express. That Game was one of many games that were exhibited at Arkavidia Technology Exhibition on Friday-Sunday (02-04/04/09), West Hall ITB.
Games that dedicated to the primary school age children were beginning to be developed and included in the Games and Animation Festival held in ITB years ago in 2008. This game recounts the life at school with a local elementary school children as an object. In that school, there are several mini games to be played in each class entered by the child that was mention earlier.
Academy Express game uses Playfirst SDK framework supported by Microsoft. The coding of the game using Microsoft Visual Studio with programming language C + +.
The game takes about 2 weeks effectively involve 4 students of Informatics Engineering ITB namely Andrew Pratomo, Shieny Aprilia, Umi Fadilah, and Indra Soaloon who have roles as a developer and interface designer. Meanwhile, the story idea and story board done by Priscilla Irene and Yuri from the Faculty of Design and Visual Arts ITB.
"The idea started from the willing to make a fun game such as big fish, it seems a game about school children hadn't exsist so we made this game," said Umi (IF'05), one of the game creator.
