AI Development for Monetary Systems by ITB and eWIDEPLUS

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—Institut Teknologi Bandung signed an agreement with eWIDEPLUS Corp. from South Korea for research and development of AI (artificial intelligence) in monetary systems. The MoU o was signed by Prof. Ir. I Gede Wenten, M.Sc., Ph.D. (ITB Vice Rector of Research and Innovation Division) and Hyouk Jun Jang (CEO of eWIDEPLUS) at the hall of ITB STP (Science and Techno Park) on Monday (6/2/2023).
eWIDEPLUS is a digital convergence corporation specializing in the global finance and environment business. Prof. Wenten thanked them during his welcoming speech for trusting ITB to conduct research together with the support of South Korea’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy.
ITB is well-known for its research excellence in various fields, such as AI, machine learning, and other new technologies. On the other hand, eWIDEPLUS is experienced in developing applications and centralized systems used in many global financial projects like banks and asset management.
“To expand a decentralized transaction system, eWIDEPLUS will work together with ITB to perform all the necessary studies, developments, trials, and prototype assembling,” Prof. Wenten stated.
This research will involve exchanging academic materials at the eWIDEPLUS Global R&D Collaboration Center in South Korea. “If needed, researchers from ITB can visit eWIDEPLUS South Korea to participate in the technology development.”
Prof. Wenten added that ITB will collaborate as both an analyst and engineer, focusing on the technological improvement of AI worldwide.
Jang Hyouk Jun expressed his gratitude towards ITB for their eagerness in this collaboration. He hoped that this newly-made pact could bring many benefits to both parties.
