Capoeira Student Unit Performed at ITB Campus
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Members of Capoeira ITB Student Unit displayed their skills in “Capoeira in Action” show. The show that was held at Basketball field ITB on Friday (07/04/17) is a regular annual event to express the creativity and show the existence of Capoeira ITB Student Unit. Moreover, the event is also the place for the members of Capoeira ITB Student Unit to show their martial arts prowess.
The event – started at 18.00 – began with warming up and preparation of the members of Capoeira Student Unit. Warming up was done by flexing the body accompanied by the sound of typical music instruments that rise the spirit of the fighters and perfecting the movement that had been practiced for around 1.5 months. The main event was displayed spectacularly with Pogo dance and Maculele dance, the dances that depict joys of youth and typical Capoeira war dance. The dances succeeded to attract the attention of spectators who filled the tribune of Basketball field ITB.
About Capoeira Student Unit
Capoeira is one of ITB martial arts units established since a dozen years ago. This student unit is a part of a larger organization, the Grupo Capoeira Brazil Indonesia. All Capoeira communities that join the community often collaborate to make an attraction. “Capoeira in Action” was collaborative result between Capoeira ITB Student Unit and other Capoeira units in other universities in Bandung such as Universitas Padjadjaran and Telkom Univerity. Through this show, Capoeira ITB Student Unit hope this martial arts could be known better and could attract more enthusiasts so that it will grow more rapidly and will benefit the public.
