Come to Support MBWG in Grand Prix Marching Band!

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Marching Band Waditra Ganesha ( MBWG) is now preparing themselves for the Grand Prix Marching band (GPMB) competition 2008. They're heading up to compete with 14 other participants in Istora Senayan Jakarta, Saturday (27/12) night. GPMB has been conducted by Grand Prix Marching Band Foundation since 1982. Through GPMB activity, it is expected the young generation will improve their quality with sort of forging and learning process that is done by each marching band unit to its member. This year, there is five bands listing in School Division and ten bands listing in Public Divisision. ITB MBWG listed as Public Division Participant.

The GPMB preparation has been started since April, started with basic practice with coach in the form of coaching clinic, this was done for several meeting times. Around June, they stepped to the performing material that will be presented. MBWG preparation for GPMB competition 2008 has done earlier compare to MBWG preparation  for GPMB 2007, this is to anticipate all constraints that probably happened so that later MBWG performance in GPMB would be more successful.

This time, MBWG performance material arrangemented and designed by themselves, MBWG members and collegiates. Wahyu Wijayanto ( DKV '04) as Drill Designer, Amar ( EL '04) as Arranger Brass, Khrisna Darundono ( EL '05) as Arranger Battery, Syabaruddin Malik as Arranger PIT, and Color Guard movement by Asri Suciati ( TL '05), Yanita Riri Kumalasari ( TL '05), and Kania Dwitiyana Laya ( MA '07). Over all, MBWG members who activately participate is 115 people; 87 player, some arranger, designer, committee, and official.

Last Tuesday(23/12), was held the dismissal performance for MBWG Strikes Back GPMB 2008 in GOR Bandung. This event used for a real performance simulation that is going to perform in Istora Senayan. For the next GPMB, MBWG will present a performance called "The City", that is city life bustle in the modern atmosphere with the August's Rhapsody (OST. August Rush) songs, Park 'n Blow, New World, and Chicago Blues. The four had performed at the dismissal event.
