BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) continues to innovate in various areas, one of which is a specialized financial support system for students, known as the Financial Aid System.
Currently under further development, ITB's Financial Aid System aligns with its educational mission: to nurture academically excellent students who are resilient, humble, adaptive, and uphold integrity. This system aims to integrate various existing financial aid resources at ITB, including tuition fee discounts, grants, part-time work programs, partnerships, and other financial assistance options.
On Friday, November 1, 2024, ITB held an online socialization session for the Financial Aid System, attended by leaders from academic units, supporting units, scholarship managers from various faculties and schools, and internship coordinators.
ITB Vice Rector for Finance, Planning, and Development, Prof. Ir. Muhamad Abduh, M.T., Ph.D., noted that preparations for the Financial Aid System are ongoing, with the data collection phase now underway. The program is set to launch on November 21, 2024.
He added that the system's design drew from benchmarking efforts with prominent international universities, such as the National University of Singapore (NUS), to create a more comprehensive financial support system.
ITB Director of Student Affairs, D. Arch. G. Prasetyo Adhitama, S.Sn., M.Sn., explained that the Financial Aid System will serve as an entryway to educational assistance services. It will provide various types of support from both internal and external sources, including financial aid, discounts, facilities, and work opportunities at ITB.
"This Financial Aid System covers the entire process of financial assistance, from application and selection to funding disbursement for recipients," he said. This includes scholarship management, disbursement tracking accessible to recipients, monitoring of scholarship activities, and partner management to enable partners to track recipient activities.
He also highlighted that the programs are designed with the involvement of external partners, such as government agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and international institutions. Benefits of this initiative include a manageable and accountable financial aid distribution process, reduced financial burden on students and ITB, optimized use of financial resources, enhanced access to career preparation for students, and improved educational services and accessibility. Through the development of this Financial Aid System, ITB reaffirms its commitment to creating inclusive, high-quality higher education.
