FSRD ITB Held an International Certification Program for Adobe

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - For the first time, Adobe CS5 certification program was held in Indonesia by Faculty of Art and Design ITB. Monday-Wednesday (3-5/06/13), FSRD ITB organized International Certification Program for Adobe CS5. This time, the certification category was Adobe Certified Associate (ACA). With this certification, one's skill can be certified and validated in the using of Adobe digital communication. This three days event was divided into colloquium, preparation of the test, and practical test.

Adobe Systems is a software company majoring in graphic field, video animation, and web development. Adobe itself is also the biggest software company, which its products rapidly growing and have been used for individual interest, general industries, or creative industries. FSRD ITB students often work with Adobe product. Collaborated with Certiport and Worldware Indonesia as the authorized testing center in Indonesia, FSRD ITB organized this program for the first time. Adobe Photoshop CS5 is familiar software often used in making multimedia applications, especially composite an unmoving manipulated pictures. ACA is the preliminary category for Adobe certification, followed by Adobe Certified Expert and Adobe Certified Instructor.

This colloquium was opened by The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of Faculty of Art and Design ITB, Dr. Ahmad Syarief, S.Sn.,MSD, and followed by Certiport Managing Director, Williams Wong. The colloquium on the first day was presented by three keynote speakers; Ismail Syah as Director of Worldware Indonesia, Chandra Tresnadi, M.Ds as design lecturer in Faculty of Art and Design ITB, and Rama Royani, the founder of talent mapping.

In his presentation, Ismail Syah explained the importance of skill validation in information and communication technology field. The competitive market hardens the job hunting in technology and information field. This is also triggered by Asia-Pacific Cooperation Pact in the next 2015, which states that Indonesia has to escalate its human resources quality. "Communication and information technology validation is important. That's what Indonesia has to be concerned about," said Ismail Syah. In the future, international market competition will become tougher; hence young designer is recommended to have an Adobe certification.

At last, the colloquium was closed by a presentation about talent mapping by Rama Royani, who is better known as 'Abah Rama'. This last presentation was focused on how to find our true self in achieving success.
"So far, this event is very worthwhile. Not only for the certification of Adobe program itself, but also the colloquium session which discuss talent mapping. I hope this kind of event can be held again next time," said Mira Widhayati (Communication and Visual Design 2009), one of the International Certification Program participants.
