Gajah Gallery: Showcase of ITB Student Innovations

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The unusual uproarious looked at the East Campus Center (CC) on Saturday noon (14/11/2015). In the big room usually used for student discussing, now opened a gallery that shows the ITB student innovations named Gajah Gallery by ITB Student Partner and Gallery of Student Association (KM-ITB). Series of gallery inauguration events opened with a talk entitled "Insan Berkarya Demi Indonesia Berdikari" inviting Dino Fabriant (Industrial Design Manager Panasonic Indonesia), Dwinita Larasati (one of the founders of Bandung Creative City Forum-BCCF), and Nyoman Anjani (initiator of Ekspedisi Pelita Muda). The inauguration of the gallery was done by the Secretary of the Rector of ITB Dr. Miming Miharaja, the Mayor of Bandung also as ITB alumni 1990 Ridwan Kamil, Chairman of the Cabinet-KM Pramaditya ITB Garry (Materials Engineering 2011), and Chairman of the ITB Partner and Gallery Alexander Septian (Engineering Physics 2013).


With Gajah Gallery, ITB Partner and Gallery comes with a new concept, i.e. displays innovation from ITB student that updated each month. Here, the ITB Partner and Gallery not only acted as the organizer of the exhibition, but also petrified to pits students as innovators with investors in the industry. At this launching, there are nine of brand new innovations as product of creativity from ITB student either intangible prototypes, or have penetrated the international market. The nine innovations in Gajah Gallery has a different theme. For example, a team of GUVIRE herbal presents absorbent virus made from extracts of red onion and orange peel. In addition, the application launches a KAMANNA solution when a person feels confused as to where to go. Different with the Biopass, the login security system that utilizes a fingerprint. Other innovation, namely Virtual Tour 360 Povo, GPR for SAR, Little Bon, Drone, Klache, DFFR, and 3D also has its uniqueness of each.

Revityas Nanda (Industrial Engineering Management 2012) one of the innovator claims to be pleased over the inauguration of the Gajah Gallery. He also hopes that his product, GUVIRE, can really penetrate the market in the future. Ridwan Kamil hopes Gajah Gallery can hold routinely, so that can trigger the creativity of the students.
