Helping the Development of Science and Techno Park Ganesha, ITB Gave a Plaque of Appreciation to PT Astra International and PT Berau Coal

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id— As a form of appreciation towards their partners for the contributions in the development of Science and Techno Park(STP) Ganesha, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) presented a Plaque of Appreciation for PT Astra International dan PT Berau Coal Energy, Tuesday (2/11/2021).

The handover of the plaque is given by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., handed to Chief of Corporate Affairs PT Astra International, Riza Deliansyah, and Chief Mining Officer PT Berau Coal Energy, Arief Wiedhartono.

The event began with an opening by Prof. Reini and a brief exposure related to the STP development process on the street of Ganesha, across the campus of ITB. “This development can be said as an indicator that ITB has a good reputation in the eyes of the donors, for that we thank you for the trust that has been given for the greater benefit,” she said.

The development of STP ITB itself is a project that involves many hands, including Bappenas, Kemendikbud Ristek/Brin, also the support from ADB. The plan said Prof. Reini, this STP ITB building on Ganesha street would be a meeting space for the researchers, innovators, investors, and industry to conduct research dan innovation of products related to the field of ICT, Big Data dan Cybertechnology, Transportation and Energy Engineering, Health and Food, as well as Infrastructure and Disasters.

The Rector added that to support essential activities inside this STP building, ITB will be supported by various research centers owned by ITB and relevant faculties/schools. ITB has prepared a particular organization to manage the STP to run the activities in early 2022, with the funding support for management and its initial activities. “This is ITB’s commitment to make the most out of the result from the cooperation between ITB and PT Astra Internasional Tbk. and PT Berau coal.” She said.

Meanwhile, Arief Wiedhartono said that STP Ganesha’s development is a solution and space to make progress for the nation. “The development of information and technology and the progress of Big Data have made major changes to all walks of life, this certainly needs to be anticipated so that the right vessel is needed as a kawah candradimuka’a place for personal development’ and meeting point between researchers, academicians, innovators, and industry,” said the representative of PT Berau Coral Energy.

He hopes facilities in the form of STP Ganesha encourage the emergence of various technology-based innovations and be an answer to the government’s efforts in promoting the role of the private sector in the field of research. Arief said that he and PT Berau Coral Energy are sure that this cooperation will develop higher education and research. “In conclusion, we thank you for the support, cooperation, and partnership that we have established so far,” he said.

Riza Deliansyah as the representative from PT Astra International, said the main background of PT Astra’s contribution to STP Ganesha is a big shady tree, beneficial to the nation and the country. “We do this for ITB because it’s in accordance with the philosophy of Astra: catur dharma,” he said.

According to Riza, hopes for the building of STP Ganesha is to be useful and can make ITB as the kawah candradimuka’a place for personal development’ for the innovation and supporting the realization of the ideas. “It is expected that from the STP facilities, it will create a superior and tough HR,” he said
