BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - For the second time, the vaccination program of Healthcare Workers in West Java was held at the Sasana Budaya Ganesha, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Wednesday and Thursday, 17-18 February 2021. The health protocols were still strictly implemented in the second phase of vaccination.

The vaccination was a collaborative program between the West Java Provincial Government and Hasan Sadikin Central General Hospital along with Bandung Institute of Technology. The second phase of vaccination targeted 917 healthcare workers in the first day and the other 1,494 healthcare workers in the second day.

Before the vaccination, the vaccine recipient should arrive at Sabuga on a scheduled time, then shows the received message which includes certain vaccination post and location. After that, the message will be verified and the screening of recipient’s blood pressure and temperature will be done. The recipient who passes the screening test will continue to registration and anamnesis check before getting the vaccine. After the vaccination, the recipient will be observed and will receive a vaccination card.

Coordinator of The Vaccination from ITB, Ir. Sri Harjati Suhardi, Ph.D., stated that even though the implementation of vaccination involved a large number of people, it still strictly referred to the national health protocol, the policies of the governors and city representatives, and protocols in ITB itself, including obligation to wear masks and social distancing as the prevention of Covid-19 exposure.
"The large number of people is really challenging. We properly obey the protocol which only allows 30% of room usage," said the Coordinator to ITB Public Relations.

Furthermore, they also firmly limited the duration of vaccination. Each recipient should not take more than 42 minutes to complete the entire process of vaccination. "We intentionally decrease the intensity of people in each room. It is expected that each step of vaccination implementation can be done rapidly yet carefully. The point is to reduce contact intensity," she concluded.
