BANDUNG, itb.ac.id — Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) is not only committed to enhancing the quality of higher education but also to providing high-quality healthcare services through its Technical Implementation Unit (bahasa: Unit Pelaksana Teknis) for Health Services. One of its premier facilities is the Bumi Medika Ganesha Primary Clinic (BMG), which has successfully achieved the highest accreditation rating, Paripurna.

The Bumi Medika Ganesha (BMG) Primary Clinic at ITB offers a wide range of specialized medical services covering various aspects of health. These include the Internal Medicine Clinic, where patients can consult with experienced specialists for diagnosis and management of internal diseases; the Ophthalmology Clinic, which provides top-tier eye care; the Psychiatry Clinic, which addresses various mental health issues; and the Periodontics Dental Clinic, which focuses on oral and dental health services.

In addition, BMG ITB Clinic is equipped with supporting medical facilities, including radiology, laboratory services, and pharmacy that provides a variety of medications tailored to patients' needs.

Head of ITB's UPT Health Services, Tjokorde Istri Armina Padmasawitri, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that the Paripurna accreditation is the result of the hard work and dedication of the entire team. She explained that this step was taken to enhance the structure, accountability, and quality of healthcare services.

The journey to achieving Paripurna accreditation was not easy. One of the biggest challenges faced was the limited human resources. Staff members, who were already engaged in daily healthcare services, also had to handle administrative tasks to prepare for accreditation. Moreover, adapting to changes in work culture posed its own challenge. However, this Paripurna accreditation serves as motivation to continuously maintain and improve the quality of healthcare services.

This accreditation also assures the public that BMG Clinic's services meet high-quality standards. It guarantees patient safety and comfort while ensuring that all facilities and procedures comply with the standards set by the Ministry of Health. For instance, proper medical record-keeping enables patients to easily obtain their medical summaries when needed. Additionally, BMG ITB Clinic is integrated with the Satu Sehat program, allowing patient health data to be accessed in one system, facilitating coordination and continuity of care.

The accreditation has also driven the development of new services at BMG ITB Clinic. One such advancement is the clinical laboratory service, which has already started operating and provides various standard blood tests and other examinations. This development highlights the clinic’s commitment to offering holistic and sustainable healthcare services to patients.

This achievement is expected to serve as a benchmark for the development of other clinics on ITB campuses. The accreditation standard attained by BMG ITB Clinic can be used as a minimum requirement for future ITB healthcare facilities. This is essential to ensure that healthcare services across the ITB community maintain the highest quality and reliability.

ITB's commitment to healthcare extends beyond its clinical facilities. Although the university has limited academic programs directly related to health sciences, it continues to show significant concern for the well-being of its academic community and the surrounding public. For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, ITB regularly organized vaccination programs and was recognized as a high-volume vaccination center. Moreover, ITB provides healthcare subsidies for those in need.

Going forward, BMG ITB Clinic plans to maintain and further improve the high standards of service it has achieved. Expanding services, strengthening collaborations with other healthcare facilities, and introducing new treatments tailored to patient needs remain key priorities. These efforts aim to ensure that BMG Clinic not only upholds its Paripurna accreditation but also continues to innovate in providing the best healthcare services for the ITB community and the general public.

Through this achievement, ITB, via the Bumi Medika Ganesha Primary Clinic, reaffirms its commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services. The Paripurna accreditation stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire team in providing the best medical care to the academic community and society at large.
