Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccination in ITB Targeting 3,816 Lecturers, Administrative Staff, and Elderly People.

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung implements a second dose of COVID-19 vaccination for lecturer, administrative staff, and elderly people. This second vaccination was held in Sasana Budaya Building Ganesha ITB on 19-23 April 2021.
In this second vaccination, the target in total is 3,816 people. The amount is more than the first phase vaccination which was 3,422 people last March. The increase was due to the data addition, and in this second vaccination there are more rations for elderly people, ITB academicians, and public as well.
Head of Health Service Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) ITB Diky Mudhakir, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. said, Elderly people who received the second dose of vaccination are 409 people. Of this number, some are classified as lecturers and non-lecturers (public). According to him, elderly people can get vaccinated in Sabuga as the contribution of ITB in the vaccination program in West Java.
“Elderly people usually get vaccinated on the last day,” he said. In this second dose vaccination, he said that ITB is collaborating with the Health Department of West Java Province for vaccine procurement and was done by ITB Vaccine Team with Hasan Sadikin Bandung Hospital. “The healthcare worker support came from Indonesian National Nurse Association and health polytechnic,” he said.
Vaccination is limited for 800 people daily, on the first day till the fourth day. The rest of it was 616 people on the fifth day. The schedule for this vaccination service is from 08.00-13.00 WIB. Only on the fifth day it is attempted to finish at 11.00 WIB.
During the vaccination process, ITB vaccination organizers hope that everyone can adhere to 5 M health protocols (keeping distance, wearing mask, washing hands, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility). Those are important things to do so COVID-19 pandemics could end soon.
