BANDUNG, School of Business and Management (SBM) Institut Teknologi Bandung established a collaboration agreement with PT Bio Farma in supporting the national education policy, Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. In this collaboration, SBM ITB students have the opportunity to be an intern at PT Bio Farma for approximately a year.

The MoU signing between SBM ITB and PT Bio Farma was held online, Thursday (24/6/2021), signed by Reza Nasution, Ph.D. as SBM ITB representative, and Disril Revolin Putra, the SEVP Human Capital and Compliance of Bio Farma.

"This is a concrete step to make sure that we give the students the best learning experiences. We believe that it is very difficult in an ecosystem-based era if we only rely on our own internal resources. The results will be different if we collaborate with partners in our ecosystem, " said Reza.

Reza added, during the COVID-19 pandemic, PT Bio Farma became the backbone of the healthcare sector, especially in vaccine research and production. In addition, Reza believes that the collaboration would bring new insight because Bio Farma has many innovations.

"Each of us can learn from each other in problems that require agility, flexibility, and adaptability. The internship program itself will bring new insight and relevancy in the real industrial corporation. Hopefully MBKM would make us stronger and educate students to be the better generation," added Reza.

Also, the Head of the Management Study Program at SBM ITB, Dr.Eng. Nur Budi Mulyono added that the student internship program would start on several projects related to the Directorate of Digital Transformation at PT Bio Farma. "In this era, students will practice and analyze real problems from hands-on experiences," he said. The mentors will guide students working on the project, both from SBM ITB and PT Bio Farma.

Aside from internship programs, SBM ITB and Bio Farma also collaborate in several agreements, namely the recruitment and career service, exchange business insights, technology, joint research and innovation, training, mentorship, and others.
