ITB and the Attorney General’s Office of West Java Establish Cooperation

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) has established cooperation with the Attorney General’s Office of West Java regarding the implementation of Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi and the administration of legal issues in civil as well as state department. The concord between these two entities commenced on Wednesday (27/4/2022) at the Attorney General’s Office.

The collaboration pact was signed directly by the Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D. and the Head of Attorney General’s Office of West Java, Dr. Asep N. Mulyana. In addition to ITB, the Attorney General’s Office also cooperates with Universitas Padjajaran.

In her statement, the Rector described that this cooperation is a response to a recent visit made by the Attorney General’s Office of West Java. With regards to this, the Rector expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the cooperation. According to her, this cooperation implicitly states that ITB has to uphold the mandate given.

Both ITB and the Attorney General’s Office of West Java will benefit from this two-way collaboration. The Rector is optimistic about this cooperation, stating that it would bring good merit in conducting respective duties and functions. “We all must improve the synergy professionally and proportionally. Everyone has their own goals and common goals,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Dr. Asep N. Mulyana stated that the cooperation is a proof of collaboration in law enforcement between officers and academics. This cooperation becomes the foundation for further and more comprehensive cooperations. “The MoU right here would become the path towards mutual understanding, coordination, and collaboration for a better Indonesia in the future”, he said.

The Attorney General’s Office also stated that crime cases have been continuously increasing and the modus operandi behind these cases have also been getting more complex. This requires them to have sufficient resources for handling all of their duties.

For this reason, the Attorney General’s Office demands information and expert assistance from ITB. In return, they could give lectures on legal education at ITB and provide legal assistance as well as legal services. “For that, we can work together in order to carry out our respective tasks and duties”, he concluded.
