BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - In an effort to enrich students' cultural experiences, the International Campus Ambassadors of the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) 2023 held BANDARA: Learning about Diverse Cultures of Countries. This activity was led by the ITB 2023 International Ambassadors, Jasmine Exa Kamilia (Environmental Engineering, 2021) and Rafly Akbar (Industrial Engineering, 2022).

The event took place on Friday (16/2/2024), at the Cinta Field of ITB Ganesha Campus. This activity collaborated with Culturation ITB, one of the annual events of the Student Family (KM) ITB, aimed at introducing the diversity of Indonesian archipelago culture.

With this event, it is hoped that international students can gain a deeper understanding of Indonesia's richness through the cultural diversity showcased, and conversely, local students can understand the cultures of international students better.

Through this activity, the ITB Campus Ambassadors of 2023 participated alongside the campus community, especially the student activity units in the cultural field, in cultural exchange activities within the campus environment. Additionally, BANDARA served as a platform for foreign students at ITB to introduce their respective cultures while also getting to know more about Indonesian culture.

BANDARA embodies international tolerance through cultural festivals and booths showcasing cultures from Indonesia and several countries around the world. It is hoped that this program can make a positive contribution to the development of understanding diverse cultures worldwide and strengthen the sense of togetherness between international and local students in the ITB campus environment.

In its implementation, a total of 14 international students from master's and doctoral programs attended as audience members, comprising 2 from Germany, 1 from Yemen, 3 from Pakistan, 1 from Poland, 1 from Jordan, 2 from Syria, 1 from Sudan, 1 from Turkey, 1 from India, and 1 from Tanzania.

Meanwhile, there were 2 international students giving cultural presentations from Jordan and Poland. Representatives of international students from 5 countries presented materials at the BANDARA booths, namely Jordan, Poland, India, Sudan, and Pakistan.
