ITB Chemical Engineering Study Program and its Alumni Association Commemorated the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian Chemical Engineering Education (PTTKI)

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The ITB Chemical Engineering Study Program and the ITB Chemical Engineering Alumni Association held a business forum to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian Chemical Engineering Education (PTTKI). This webinar was held on Saturday (22/05/2021) and presented three major figures who are also lecturers with their respective success stories.

The first topic was delivered by the Professor of Chemical Engineering ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Subagjo, the researcher of absorbent sponge iron. Prof. Subagjo told the background of the creation of sponge iron absorbents. The second topic was delivered by Dr. Ir. Melia Laniwati Gunawan, the researcher of Katalis Merah Putih. She talked about the catalyst innovation carried out at the Chemical Reaction Technology Research Group. The last speaker was Dr. Ir. I Dewa Gede Arsa Putrawan, M.Sc., the researcher of PVC stabilizer.

The Head of ITB Chemical Engineering Alumni Association, Ir. Ricky Wargakusumah, opened the webinar with remarks. He stated that the role of researchers in the advancement of chemical technology is essential, "Our next task is to think about and realize the collaboration between industry and universities," he said.

In addition, there was also a brief explanation of the virtual tour from the Paragon Innovation Summit 2021, which was presented by two young alumni of Chemical Engineering ITB who are now serving at Paragon Technology and Innovation, namely Samuel Saptohadi and Adinda Asri Pixelina.
