Bandung, itb.ac.id – Percalas 2021 is an online exhibition that showcases the works of ITB Interior Design Study Program from multiple studio courses that they have undertaken. Interior Design Student Association (IMDI) held Percalas 2021 on the website www.imdi-itb.com which can be accessed by everyone on 21-27 July 2021.

Ulen Dara, Interior Design 2019, as the Chairman of Percalas 2021 Committee hopes that this exhibition can facilitate the students and the public to know more about the world of interior design. So that the student who will be an interior designer in the future can create a design that is fit for the needs and conditions of the community. "Moreover, it is hoped that the public will have more knowledge about interior design major through this exhibition," she said.

The committee displayed three projects from three separate studio courses. The studio courses names are Studio Interior II, Studio Interior IV, and Studio TA or Final Project.

Interior II project is composed of home interior designs by 17 Interior Design students class of 2019. They studied the collective needs of a family to a room that resulted in complexity. The complexity that occurs in the needs of a living space happens because there is a lack of residential space. Individual differences such as the uniqueness of personalities and the difference of physical and psychological characteristics also add more complexity. Each student has their own concept of space, according to the conclusion of the problems.

These multiple concepts were showcased by each student through an infographic that contains architectural drawings, in the form of generated images and house plans. Moreover, there is a 360? view feature that allows the full view of the house. The following are the snippets of the works that were showcased in the Interior II project.

Interior IV project contains office designs that were generated through a creative process by 10 Interior Design students class of 2018. The students are faced with the workspace needs of an organization or a company. The differences in how the organization, business, and management aspects of a company behave are the main complexity in this interior design study case.

Therefore, a more complex condition analytic and literature review are needed so that the students can create a design that fulfills the design requirements and solves multiple problems through a creative process. Same with Interior II, each student showcased their own office concept by using an infographic and 360? view so that the visitors can get a full view of the design just like using a Virtual Reality (VR). The following are the snippets of the works that were showcased in the Interior IV project.

The Final Project contains interior designs from some chosen final-year students. The students analyzed design problems from a project that was agreed with their supervisor and scientifically account for their interior design result through two preview assessments and one final assessment. This studio project showcased the design of 25 students. The following are the snippets of the works that were showcased in the Final Project.

This exhibition is a reminder that each interior design students need to improve their competency without forgetting the benefits of interior design study for the society.
