BANDUNG, itb.ac.id— Starting from the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) commenced its non-regular and non-degree program for all graduate students. “This program aims to expand access of education to all members of society,” the Director of Non-Regular Program, Prof. Dr. Andri Dian Nugraha, S.Si, M.Si., stated at Bandung (Tuesday, 10/8/2021).
Prof. Andri explained that this program is also known as the pre-magister program. “Participants can enroll as regular graduate students and use their transcripts from non-regular, non-degree programs as part of the curriculum's fulfillment.”
ITB's non-regular and non-degree program offers more than 100 courses of all master’s programs for graduates in all majors. “Subjects of these programs outside the School of Business and Management (SBM) and Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) can only be attended by graduates majoring in science and engineering. Likewise, students from all majors can register to subjects from the master's program of SBM and FSRD,” Prof. Andri elaborated.
In this program, students can take a maximum of twelve course credits per semester. They will be recorded as non-regular ITB students and receive their NIM for one semester. “The first academic semester of 2021/2022 will be held online with the regular students. Exams and assignments will follow the regular classes’ schedule. By the end of the semester, all students will obtain their grades from their chosen courses.” Prof. Andri added.
The transcript will be acknowledged by ITB if participants wish to pursue the regular master’s program. “To finish the regular master's program, they must fulfill all courses' requirements in its curriculum,” Prof. Andri further described.
“The validity of the transcript is five years since its publication. Hence, the selected course can be used to complete the regular master's program no later than five years,” he emphasized.
Prof. Andri then affirmed that the selection specification is considered based on the validity of the submitted bachelor’s diploma, motivational letter, and the availability of the class’s quota capacity. “In short, the program is on a first-come, first-served basis.”
The discussion about the non-regular and non-degree program was held at 16.00 QIH through the Zoom link bit.ly/WebinarNRNG-1. The webinar can also be replayed via Youtube channel “Direktorat Pendidikan ITB”. An important date to note is that the program's registration deadline is 19th August 2021.
