ITB Panelist on Quality Standardization of University's ICT System and Management Workshop

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung actively participated in the workshop themed 'Quality Standardization of University's ICT System and Management (AUN-ICT),' held on Tuesday-Wednesday (7-8/11/2023) at Novotel Platinum Pratunam, Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat in collaboration with Prince of Songkla University (PSU) and the Institute for Software Engineering and Quality Management (ISEM), this event addressed the pressing need for standardized practices in university ICT systems and management.
In acknowledgment of the integral role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in higher education, the workshop aimed to further elaborate on methods and concepts introduced in the March 2023 Phuket session. The focus was on optimizing university capabilities to attain international standard certifications in information systems, cybersecurity, and data protection, crucial components in the era of digital transformation.
The workshop also sought to establish regional standards in ICT Systems and Management at the university level, covering Organizational Management, Project Management, Software Development, IT Service Management, and Information Security Management.
With representation from 23 universities across 9 countries, including Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Laos, the event welcomed 35 participants. Indonesia was represented by 4 participants, including individuals from prestigious institutions such as Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Airlangga, and Universitas Hasanudin.
Distinguished panelists for the "Quality Standardization of University's ICT System and Management (AUN-ICT)" workshop included:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Thatchavee Leelawat, Vice President for Information Technology and Kanchanaburi Campus, Mahidol University.
- Ms. Tan Shui-Min, Chief Information Technology Officer, National University of Singapore.
- Fivien Nur Savitri, S.T., M.T., Chief Information Officer, Institut Teknologi Bandung.
- Dr. Vorasuang Duangchinda, Director, Office of Online Education, Sripatum University, and Special Advisor to the AUN Executive Director.
- Dr. Tachanun Kangwantrakool, Founder/CEO, Institute of Software Engineering Improvement and Quality Management (ISEM).
Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti, Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network, highlighted in his address that this program aims to enhance and refine university organizational capabilities, fostering excellence across various fields. ITB's active involvement in this workshop is a testament to its commitment to advancing higher education in the ASEAN region, contributing to international collaboration, and gaining insights into the challenges and opportunities in ASEAN's industries.
Hopefully, with these existing programs, the quality of higher education in the ASEAN region can gain its preeminence. ITB's involvement in this workshop can prove ITB’s contribution in the advancement of higher education in ASEAN, while further strengthening cooperation in the international field and to better understand various industrial challenges and opportunities in ASEAN to come.
