During the signing ceremony, ITB was represented by ITB’s Vice Rector of Research, Innovation and Partnership, Prof. Bambang Riyanto Trilakso while DigitalGlobe was represented by Senior Director of DigitalGlobe, Lim Ser Chin.
Mentioning disasters that occurred to Palu and Donggala several times ago, Lim Ser Chin hopes DigitalGlobe and ITB can together conduct more researches in disaster mitigation, disaster management, and warning. It is in line with the mission of DigitalGlobe to see a better world. “With the help of ITB, this will move even faster,” Lim Ser Chin said.
Vice Rector of Research, Innovation, and Partnership of ITB, Prof. Bambang Riyanto also expressed his gratitude. Any kind of collaboration in the area of geospatial and remote sensing will be very beneficial for ITB. “Today we start to work together with one the leading companies in geospatial software. I believe the collaboration will be useful for both parties,” said Prof. Bambang Riyanto.
The MoU signing is a way for ITB to widen collaboration with many parties. This is important since it goes accordingly with ITB’s movement towards Entrepreneurial University. “ITB will be celebrating 100 years anniversary in 2020 as the oldest university in science and technology in Indonesia. Our rector has a vision to transform ITB from research university towards entrepreneurial university and in that regard ITB should collaborate with partners, with government, the business community and industry.” Concluded Prof. Bambang.
