BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Bangan team from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) secured the 2nd place award and Best Paper in the National Business Case Competition (NBCC) 2023. (17/12/2023). The competition was organized by Kejar Mimpi Depok under the theme "Pursuing Innovation for Sustainable Growth" presents a challenge in the form of formulating solutions to cases provided by companies in the e-commerce or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.

The Bangan Team members consisted of I Dewa Ayu Andina Angelia (Microbiology 2021), Muhammad Fauzan Nafi (Chemical Engineering 2021), and Jessica Stevanie (Engineering Management 2022). They successfully devise a creative solution to a marketing problem faced by the company that was the focus of the competition.

In the given scenario, the company faced challenges in reaching their target market, especially those in suburban areas. The Bangan team came up with an innovative solution called #DagangKeRakyat, focusing on implementing offline marketing strategies that are more closely aligned with the lives of people in rural areas.

The #DagangKeRakyat solution includes several strategic steps, including the use of a traveling truck to reach villages. Team Bangan proposes marketing by using a truck that travels to villages to connect with the consumers in rural areas. Additionally, they suggest active participation in village events and the distribution of essential goods. With this, they recommend that companies actively engage in village events and conduct social activities, such as food distribution, to build positive relationships with the community.

Next, they used banners for local stalls, which is a method that involves placing banners in small stalls to reach a larger consumer base. Furthermore, the Bangan Team suggested forming a community of warung owners to improve information access and collaboration.

One of the team members, Andina, shared that they conducted an in-depth analysis of the company, including a direct survey of stalls around the target area. Focusing on warung owners as their primary consumers, the team conducted interviews to understand their habits and problems.

"In addition, we also created an overview of the solution, starting from the mechanism and design," said Andina.
