ITB Students Represent Indonesia in the 17th International Youth Leadership Conference

PRAGUE, itb.ac.id - Two students Industrial Engineering Institute of Technology Bandung, Annisa Lifta Kurnia Dewi and Riescha Puri Gayatri become Indonesian delegation at the 17th International Youth Leadership Conference (IYLC) in Prague, the Republic of Cheko. Activities conducted by the Civic Concept International that was attended by 80 participants coming from 30 countries. The 17th IYLC, take 4 to 6 January 2009, brought up the theme of law and politics.

 

During the conference the participants were divided into several groups. Each group consisting of 10-12 participants who come from different countries. The conference is a simulation of the UN council with the agenda of group discussion  about the planning and development of UN Security Council strategy on the movement of South Ossetia separatist conflict with Georgia, embassy visit, parliament building of the Republic of Cheko visit, groups discussion about the function, position, and strategies of the international criminal court, the panel discussion with the topic "The leader of Responsible", and "Women and Leadership", reception event with the sponsor, partners, speakers, and diplomat, and the simulation of the international criminal court cases fall Sudanese President, Omar al-Bashir.
 
 
Through The 17th International Youth Leadership Conference, the participants realized the importance of viewing a problem from different perspectives, develop international business ethics discipline to be able facing the global challenges, has a sensitivity to the current global issues, and network expansion in the international community.
 
 
Indonesia is the only country that send a delegation who came from an engineering education background , not law and political. After the 17th IYLC, The two delegations will realize the advantages of integrated paradigm courses taught by Industrial Engineering. Awareness of this relief after seeing most of the participants are likely to see problems in partial depending on what the focus of attention.
