They came from various backgrounds, both internal and external to ITB. "As for the progress, thankfully it has been running smoothly as per the schedule," stated Prof. Rudy on September 25, 2024.

He hoped that the number of nominees would increase as the deadline drew near.

The four aforementioned stages would be overseen and facilitated by numerous parties, including the Search Committee, Rectoral Election Committee, and Panel of Experts; all of whom would ensure that the entire process run according to established procedures.

Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, S.E., M.T., hoped that the rector candidates could initiate development concepts that are beneficial for West Java, especially for Bandung, which is the capital city of the province.

"All in terms of education, science, and community service," said Bey recently.

The Acting Governor then emphasized the importance of a rector in enabling students to think creatively and innovatively. According to him, ITB had been long known for its prominent alumni in the field of technology. Consequently, he hoped that these innovations would not only cover technology but also other sectors that are relevant in this day and age.

"ITB is the place for the nation's brightest students, and it also reflects the best quality of education in Indonesia," he added.

Regarding the electoral election, Bey guaranteed that all stages would be conducted transparently, accountably, and credibly. As a member of the Board of Trustees (Majelis Wali Amanat or MWA in Indonesian), Bey affirmed his commitment to guarding the integrity of the election.

"The election will be transparent, accountable, and credible," Bey declared.
