Monash University in Talk to Form Cooperation with ITB

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – University Secretary of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Prof. Dr-Ing Ir. Widjaja Martokusumo welcomed Monash University of Australia, on Wednesday (12/2/2020) in Rectorate Building’s VIP Room, Tamansari Street No. 64, Bandung. The visit was discussing the plan to form cooperation between ITB and Monash University in terms of education and research.
On this occasion, the representatives from Monash University attended were Prof. Andrew, Prof. Shane, and Dr. Elaine, while ITB’s representatives were Dr. Denny Zulkaidi as Dean of the School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development (SAPPK) along with several teaching staffs including Dr. Heru W. Poerbo, Dr. Budi Faisal, and Dr. Aswin Indraprastha.
Prof. Andrew said Monash University has been having a strong and protracted relationship with Indonesia. Moreover, there are many graduates from Monash University are from Indonesia. On that foreground, Monash University is agitated to enhance the relationship and willing to arrange more programs with Indonesia. “Fortunately, Monash University has received permission from the Indonesian government to build a Monash campus in Jakarta,” said Prof. Andrew.
In addition, he said that the university is especially aiming to develop the Department of Architecture and Planning in Monash campus in Jakarta. The department is considered new since it was established 13 years ago. Moreover, the lecture is still leaning more on the architecture field only, while the planning field is considered not quite proficient. Therefore, they are interested in partner with ITB.
ITB University Secretary, Prof. Widjaja embraced their plan to collaborate. ITB as an educational institution will always be receptive to parties who is willing to cooperate. The visit was closed by giving souvenirs both from ITB and SAPPK, then ended with a group photo session.
