Bridging Education and Industry: ITB and T-MEC Co., Ltd. Sign HR Development Deal

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and a Japanese company, T-MEC Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the fields of education, research, training, and academic and cultural exchanges. The activity took place at Rapim A, ITB Rectorate Building, on Wednesday (2/5/2025).

Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., brought up the importance of international cooperation for ITB, especially in providing global experience to students.

"We are currently making intensive internationalization efforts, one of which is providing opportunities for our students to adapt through internship or exchange programs at partner institutions," he said.

Prof. Tata hopes that the collaboration with T-MEC Co., Ltd. can open up opportunities for ITB students to gain direct experience in an international work environment, especially in Japan.

Meanwhile, President and Representative Director of T-MEC Co., Ltd. Akihiko Matsuoka, conveyed his company's commitment in supporting the development of quality human resources through this partnership. T-MEC Co., Ltd. plans to open an internship program for more than 15 ITB students each year.

"We are committed to strengthen our partnership with Institut Teknologi Bandung and encourage collaboration in developing high-quality human resources," he said.

In addition, his party will also collaborate with universities in Japan to provide more support for students undergoing internship programs, both in terms of daily life and cultural activities.

This MoU covers various forms of strategic cooperation, including joint research projects, academic conferences, and internship programs for ITB students in Japan. In addition, this partnership aims to expand the international network and enrich the academic and professional experiences of ITB students.

With this collaboration, ITB hopes to further improve the quality of education and the relevance of the curriculum to the needs of the global industry. The internship program at T-MEC Co., Ltd. will provide an opportunity for ITB students to firsthand experience the dynamics of the industry in Japan, develop technical and professional skills, and broaden their cultural insights.
