Dr. Soetjipto was an alumnus of the ITB Mining Engineering Class of 1961 and served as a senior lecturer at FTTM ITB.

Throughout his life, he made significant contributions, including serving as Director General at the Ministry of Mining and Energy. He later became the Minister of Public Works from 1999 to 2000.

He also held the position of President Director at PT Freeport Indonesia from 2012 to 2015. During his tenure, Freeport Indonesia donated the Freeport SBM ITB building, which was inaugurated as the Labtek XIV Building at ITB in 2017. Until his passing, he continued to serve as a member of the Advisory Board at the SBM ITB School of Business.

In his career, Dr. Soetjipto held many key roles in Indonesia's mining industry, including:
1. Lecturer in Mining Engineering and Geophysical Engineering at FTTM ITB
2. Vice Dean of the Graduate School at ITB
3. Director of Development at the Directorate General of General Mining
4. Director General of Geology
5. Director General of General Mining
6. Minister of Public Works
7. President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia
8. Independent Commissioner at PT Bayan
9. Founder and active member of the Natural Resource Centre

The passing of Dr. Ir. Rozik Boedioro Soetjipto is a great loss to both the ITB family and Indonesia's mining industry. His remarkable contributions will always be remembered and serve as an inspiration for future generations. May his good deeds be accepted, and may his family be granted strength and patience during this difficult time.
