BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Team Indie Techies of ITB successfully won 1st Place and Favorite Team awards at the 9th UI Studentpreneur. The competition was held from on February 10th – February 15th, 2020, at UI’s Depok campus. This event was organized by Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Indonesia (UI).

Team Indie Techies is made up of 3 ITB students from different majors. These students are Akhmad Rizqatha Ramadhan (Management 2020), Krisanti Debora Angelia (Entrepreneurship 2020), and Reiner Nathaniel Jabanto (Power 2017). “Our motivation to take part in this competition is actually because the three of us have often made projects together and we often talk about the ideas that we brought in this competition” said Akhmad, the Head of Team Tech Indies.

In The 9th UI Studentpreneur, each team must make a business plan that is related to the main theme, which is focused on “Using Technology in Helping SMEs to Grow”. The idea that Team Indie Techies proposed was a Silverpreneur Consulting Platform named Goldtimes. The term Silverpreneur itself is used to describe a retiree who wants to be an entrepreneur.

Akhmad explained that Goldtimes is a platform that bridges prospective retirees that need help developing ideas and implementing businesses with student consultants who need real work experience. These prospective retirees will be brought together using Goldtimes platform which is accessible through an app or a website. There, the prospective retirees will be given some questions aimed to identify their business aspirations. Then, Goldtimes’ system will give several business recommendations based on several factors, such as the initial funding, feasibility, and the scale of the business. The prospective retirees must then choose one of the business recommendations to proceed. Afterwards, the app will give a selection of consultants that have the capability or experience in the chosen business. “During the implementation of the business project, prospective retirees can monitor their business using our app” said Akhmad. Throughout the competition, the team were faced with many challenges and obstacles, such as managing their time and doing some preparations for the competition. Akhmad also added that the key in winning this competition is knowing the team dynamics and the competition itself.
