BANDUNG, itb.ac.id — The 10th Theory and Technique and the 1st International Aerosol Association Conference (T and T - IAA 2024) found their first day in the West Hall, Institut Teknologi Bandung, on August 2, 2024. The event took place for three days until August 4.

This event raised the theme “Aerosol Science and Environmental Sustainability: Bridging the Gap for Sustainable Development Goals.” The main objective of this conference was to discuss the crucial roles of environmental science, both generally and specifically about aerosols, to support the realization of sustainable development goals and strengthen intersectoral collaboration.

The Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FCEE), Prof. Edwan Kardena, Ph.D., said that the prime environmental issue widely recognized by people is related to water. This is followed by the emerging awareness about air pollution, which has steadily increased in magnitude and become an ongoing global problem.

During the conference, more than 100 papers on environmental issues were studied and discussed. Researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders were therefore able to share their interdisciplinary knowledge and innovative ideas with one another, with the goal of achieving sustainable development globally.

Prof. Edwan stated, “this conference offers a great opportunity to contribute to Earth and create a more sustainable future.” In addition, it can help achieve the sustainable development goals outlined by the United Nations (UN).

Prof. Edwan hoped that the 10th T&T and the 1st IAA conference would have a tremendous positive impact on the environment.
