Webinar on "Increasing the Competency of High-Quality Human Resources at the Rebana Metropolitan Area" held on Friday, August 18, 2023.

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) will organize various programs to develop human resources (HR) in the Rebana region.

ITB previously collaborated with the Rebana Regional Management Agency on Wednesday, September 8th, 2023. ITB will establish the Indonesian Metropolitan Studies Centre at the Cirebon Campus under the SAPPD ITB study program, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The Rebana region is a hub of industry and economic growth, covering seven districts in West Java: Sumedang, Majalengka, Cirebon, Subang, Indramayu, and Kuningan.

Metropolitan Rebana is expected to play a pivotal role in the economic growth of West Java in the coming years, thanks to a range of development initiatives.

The presence of the ITB Cirebon multi-campus within the Rebana area plays a vital role in the growth of this region.

During his speech titled "Improving the Competency of Skilled Professionals in the Metropolitan Region" on Friday, August 18, 2023, Dr. Ir. Iwan Kustiwan, M.T., the Director of ITB Cirebon Campus, highlighted ITB's key areas of focus. These include nurturing talented individuals, establishing research centres, and contributing to the development of the Rebana region. Additionally, ITB aims to serve the local community in the Rebana area. In 2024, ITB will actively offer the necessary facilities to support collaboration requirements.

In addition to its outstanding facilities and infrastructure, there will be a focus on improving the quality of human resources in the Rebana region, with support from ITB. The Head of the West Java Regional Personnel Agency, H. Sumasna, MUM, expressed a positive response to this initiative, which aims to improve the quality of human resources, starting with Civil Servants (ASN).

The main focus for enhancing the quality of human resources is on Civil Servants (ASN), as they play a crucial role in the development of the Rebana region.

He mentioned that several initiatives have been implemented to enhance quality, including the implementation of digital transformation initiatives related to ASN. It is necessary for ASN to embrace digital elements in order to effectively meet diverse job demands in today's era.

In alignment with our mission, the Directorate of Non-Regular Education at ITB has implemented the ITB Continuing Education Centre (ICE Centre) platform. This platform offers public access to non-degree learning opportunities, available to individuals both within and outside of ITB.

ITB provides flexible access to education breakthroughs through this centralized platform. Our range of programs include Bundling options, Custom Bundling, Request, A La Carte, Credit Earning Cluster, PMM, and International Virtual Course (IVC). These packages are designed to meet the specific needs of potential participants in relation to their desired learning options.

The establishment of the ICE Centre is a direct response to the increasing prevalence of distance education. This program facilitates the collaboration between participants and instructors, ensuring that they receive certification.

"The level of recognition for the activities gathered can be determined based on the duration of time spent on them. Ideally, these activities can be converted into equivalent credits for specific study programs," stated Irwan Iskandar, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., the Sub-Director of Continuing Education at the Directorate of Non-Regular Education at ITB.

ITB is pleased to announce its support for future initiatives aimed at enhancing the human resources of ASN through customizable learning.
