The person in charge of the activity, Mashia Saghira Syauki, explained that Urban Constellations were born from the need for students to learn to collaborate while responding to public space issues that they encounter directly in the field.

"Urban Constellations arose from our need as architecture students to learn to collaborate while also addressing issues of public space in Bandung that we encountered firsthand," he said.

Through this exhibition, students aim to introduce the public to the architectural thinking process, not just the final product. Visitors are invited to understand how an architectural idea is born through observation, analysis, solution exploration, and the creation of the work.

Mashia explained that the whole process begins with a site visit to observe the condition of public spaces in Bandung. The findings were then analyzed using a qualitative approach. design thinking before being translated into various works on display.

"The main goal is to introduce the architectural thinking process to the public, not just the design results. We also want to raise visitors' awareness of Bandung's public spaces and encourage them to think critically about possible solutions," he said.

The creative process in Urban Constellations The project was carried out collaboratively, both within groups and across divisions. For the students, this experience provided an important lesson on the importance of communication, coordination, and cooperation in architectural practice.

One of the biggest challenges in organizing this exhibition was coordination and workload allocation within the relatively short preparation time. However, this challenge was overcome through a culture of mutual support and strengthened coordination among team members.

This exhibition targets the general public, particularly students in Bandung. Public enthusiasm was evident in the number of visitors, which reached 391 people in one day, accompanied by various responses and discussions that emerged after they visited the exhibition.

According to Mashia, this achievement shows that architecture can be an effective medium for building public awareness of urban issues.

"What we felt most was that we learned that architecture is not just about design, but also about communication, collaboration, and understanding other people's needs," he said.

Different from the usual architectural exhibitions, Urban Constellations is not only exhibiting the work but also presenting the process behind the work through the presentation of the design thinking flow, artist talk sessions, and direct interaction between participants and visitors.

Through this approach, ITB Architecture students hope that the public can see that architecture has a close role in everyday life and the quality of urban space.

“If there is one thing we want to leave behind, it would be that architecture is not just about buildings but about understanding the problems around us and finding better solutions,” Mashia said.

Although not yet designed as a sustainable program in any particular form, Urban Constellations hopes that this will be an experience that can be passed on to the next generation and will also have a positive impact on society through the ideas presented in the exhibition.

Through this initiative, ITB Architecture students demonstrate that architectural education does not stop in the studio space but rather is present as a learning process that builds social sensitivity, collaboration, and active involvement in responding to urban challenges.
