4icu: ITB Keep Ranked First in Indonesia

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - ITB managed to survive at the best top-ranked university in Indonesia, version of the rating of 4International Colleges & Universities (4icu). Based on the newest data released on Friday (06/01/12), 4icu ranks ITB at position 138 of the world, 16 in Asia, and the first in Indonesia.

 

Most of the top positions still occupied by the universities of the United States, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the top. Although ITB position in the world has decreased compared to the previous result of the release, this achievement is still outstanding, because ITB position is above some other top universities abroad. About 4icu ITB’s achievement in 4icu is compared to the total of 11 thousand colleges spread across 200 countries. Universities that are included in the database of 4icu meet certain predefined criteria, such as licensed, accredited nationally or regionally, has officially graduate, conducting face-to-face teaching and learning, and has official website. The ranking of 4icu version can be used as a reflection of a university popularity, based on the popularity of website, where internet has become one of the main information sources of the community. This ranking is generated by an algorithm that uses three web metric that work independently and impartial. With the newest release, ITB has been able to maintain the achievement every period since 2010. This achievement will be an encouragement to maintain ITB as one of the best research universities in the world and to develop ITB website as a better source of information.
