BANDUNG—Regarding the circulating information about SBM (School of Business and Management) ITB not accepting student applications next academic year as well as the upcoming lecturer strike, we would like to issue several clarifications for both matters:
1. Information concerning SBM ITB temporarily canceling the next batch of students' admission is incorrect. The decision to accept new students is under the authority of the ITB Rectorate.
2. Application for all study programs- Bachelor (via SNMPTN, SBMPTN, SM-ITB, and International Undergraduate Program Selection), Postgraduate, and Professional- resumes as scheduled on the official information https://admission.itb.ac.id.
3. Students who have chosen ITB next academic year, including those applying for SBM ITB at SNMPTN 2022, will still be eligible for acceptance following the LTMPT schedule.
4. ITB is currently committed to conduct all study programs without troubling the students, ensuring the quality of education for all stakeholders, especially SBM students. Hence, all academic and operational activities in SBM will continue as usual.
5. All SBM ITB's academic activities are closely monitored by ITB management. If any violations by lecturers–such as declining academic service–are found, ITB will take immediate action while WRAM (Office of the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs) of ITB will take over all teaching and learning activities. In such cases, ITB has provided a hotline complaint on WhatsApp under the name “Akademik ITB” (No: 08112101920).
6. The MWA (Board of Trustees) of ITB always supports the Rectorate in handling the SBM ITB issues. They have informed the Rector to improve and strengthen the management of SBM ITB together with its department.
7. MWA ITB reaffirms its support to the Rectorate through various efforts to ensure all activities resume per usual.
8. MWA ITB reiterates that the Rector must take decisive action against academic staff who disregard the disciplinary rules and regulations of carrying out academic activities, including those at SBM ITB.
9. ITB is optimistic that the issue regarding SBM ITB can be resolved soon with full support and trust from all associations, staff, MWA, Academic Senate, and alumni.
