Dr. Ir. Aries Firman is known for his willingness to share his knowledge about project management to the proffesionals from oil and gas industry, aviation, and the executives of non-governmental organizations from all over Indonesia. Now, Dr. Aries is currently working on the research about leadership, culture exchanges, and project management besides his business on hydropower.
Puslitbang Sosekling is the research center ordered by The Ministry of Public Works and Housing. Up until now, the Puslitbang Sosekling has worked together with many institutions to maintain the research, collaborate and initiate the research, apacity building, and the development of social laboratory. All these things are done to support the development of sustainable infrastructures through the research project.
In the upcoming years, the strategic issues about infrastructure development will be identified to figure out the effects on social, economy, and environmental aspects. The social conflict now happens a lot because of the land acquisition and transmigration programs which only focus on the physical relocation compare to make the life of people any better. Until now, there is not equipment to assess the impact of infrastructure development on economy. Besides, the impact of climate change has pushed government, private sectors, non-governmental organizations, and the communities to work together to improve local defense. They maximize the adaptive capability and mitigation technology.
The international seminar had purpose to discuss those issues through innovative method of deliver and best approach. A productive dialogue then was held to discuss three subtopics which are conflict resolution, impact assessment on economy, and environmental resilience.
