BANDUNG, itb.ac.id— A program named Saturday Lesson that was brought by ITB Career Center, held a discussion about the topic “Be The Innovative Entrepreneur” last Saturday (26/6/2021). They presented the President Commissioner of PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation, Dr.(HC). apt. Dra. Nurhayati Subakat as the keynote speaker.

A brief background in building Paragon was explained by Nurhayati as an opening to her presentation. Having Paragon as a top national brand, she reminded the participants that nothing can be done without hard work.

In her presentation, Nurhayati explained the five aspects that she believes in making Paragon a useful, growing, and sustainable company. The first aspect is God’s will; to believe in the existence and power of God. She empathized with “The Marketing Mix” formula, (4+1)P= Product, Price, Placement, Promotion, and God’s will.

The second aspect is to care or uphold the value of togetherness and usefulness. The third one is to be humble and realize that everyone has advantages and disadvantages. To be tough and live life with joy comes in forth. The last one is innovation; to always develop better and new things to meet and exceed customer expectations and make it a tool to provide needs and uses.

Nurhayati also believes that we will inevitably encounter various challenges as part of our journey, but every challenge has its own solution, and of course, with God’s will, hard work, integrity, and discipline, everything will be okay. “Remember your purpose in doing anything. Good and useful things will find its way back to benefit us,” she said.

The event was hosted by Chandra Hady and moderated by SBM ITB Lecturer Atika Irawan. Previously, the event was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng.

Expressing his gratitude, he was very excited about this event as it is very useful to prepare students and alumni to be ready for work in the future. This event is also in line with the MBKM program, which is being developed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Technology.

Aspects which are needed in the industry world always develop as the industry itself develops. According to Prof. Jaka, in the Industry 5.0 era, skills and intelligence would no longer be prime requirements. As humans, we would be required to have consciousness or awareness of our surrounding environment. He expressed his hope towards the next generation to be able to control the technology, not to be controlled by it.
