Food, Fuel, and Water Securities through Proper Management of Human Resources for National Security

Bandung, ITB.ac.id – on Monday, 20 February 2017 at Rapim A
room, CCAR building ITB, the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
between Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and National Defense Council
(Wantannas) was arranged. The MoU was directly signed by the Rector of ITB,
Prof. Dr.Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi and General Secretary of Wantannas, Letjen TNI
Nugroho Widyotomo. Among the attendees were Vice Rector of General
Administration, Alumni, and Communication, Dr. Miming Miharja, ST, M.Sc. Eng,
Vice Rector of Research, Innovation and Partnership, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang
Riyanto Trilaksono and The Dean of School of Electrical Engineering and
Informatics, Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng.
The Importance of
Fuel, Food, and Water Securities
During his speech, the rector of ITB mentioned that ITB has a study and
development center for new, renewable, and conventional energy supported by
cross-disciplinary knowledge groups. There are three main security issues on
international forum discussions, namely food, fuel, and water securities.
Food security grants composure, fuel security grants
independence, water security grants survival. About ICT, excellence in
information and communications technology (ICT) could predict in years ahead
the shift of employment which expectedly dominated by ICT companies.
General Secretary of Wantannas, Letjen TNI Nugroho Widyotomo
affirmed the importance of partnership through proper suggestions or
recommendations in connection with national security by ITB as a prestigious
and one of the oldest universities in Indonesia.
The merits of Indonesia should be embodied and should not
appear only in jargons. Indonesia will progress if natural and human resources
receive proper management. Wantannas asked for suggestions from ITB in
development of technology that moved, progressed, and applicable to the whole
people of Indonesia.
Recommendations for accurate decision making for the
progress of Indonesia are the expected outcome of the MoU. The signing was
concluded with mementos exchange.
